Doldrums
"Let's do this thing...what is [...] it Monday? Tuesday? I don't knowwww I've been on the road for sooo looooonggg AHHH!" It's early December 2011 and Alrick Woodhead aka Doldrums is adequately frazzled. That might not sound like the best state of mind for a performer but trust us when we say it was definitely appropriate fo his tunes. This homie from up north graced us with some truly schizophrenic jams on his visit to Shea. Doldrums has a looseness that's often rare for electronic performers -- his songs fly off into wild directions but still keep you in their steady groove. Take a listen to this big pile of samples and morphing beats and hear the beautiful anarchy for yourself. - LC

Diarrhea Planet
Scenario: I'm 15 years old again. My parents are out of town for the weekend and I have one chance to impress the hottest girl in school with the ultimate house party. What band am I going to ask to play? Without a doubt, it's Nashville's Diarrhea Planet. Before long there's kids passed out in the bathroom, people skateboarding in my pool and I'm bringing Sandy upstairs to check out my coin collection. With sing-a-long vocals and four guitarists who aren't afraid to finger tap, Diarrhea Planet might be the ultimate party band. This is the sound of "fuck it man, we're young." - LC

Dan Friel
There's something to be said for an artist who can give the dirtiest electronic squelches and squeals a feeling of emotional weight. Dan Friel's tunes are something akin to your toaster trying to sing you a beautiful song while the rest of your kitchen appliances are busy destroying themselves in rhythmic fashion. Everything sounds maxed out like it could explode at any moment, but he sits calmly at the foot of the stage, pedals and wires glowing. Listen, and be overcome by the raw electric power. - LC

Lost Boy?
The bros from Lost Boy have had a long-standing relationship with Shea Stadium. Playing nearly a dozen shows that date back as far as those early, early days of fall 2009, they've become somewhat of a fixture here. They're a band that is virtually impossible to dislike, serving up classic slices of loose-but-tight 90's inspired guitar rock. Here is a retrospective of some highlights from those shows over the years. - AR
