— Beppe Loda —
We are very exited to have Italian DJ legend Beppe Loda as the headliner for this night! Beppe is famous for introducing a futuristic new mixing style in the early 80s, playing obscure disco, minimal synth & industrial, and funky ‘Afro’ music in an extremely psychedelic fashion – changing tempos, adding sound effects, all while making people dance like crazy. His residencies at clubs Typhoon and Cosmic marked the height of the Italo-disco era, and he hasn’t stopped blowing minds since. Prepare for a journey.
There’s a great description and interview here : http://www.tropicalcomputersystem.com/loda/

Blues Control
Blues Control is an experimental rock duo (Russ Waterhouse & Lea Cho) from Queens who now live near Philadephia. Their sound is acid drenched, fuzzy, riffy, sometimes minimal and tinged with New Age. The band has put out 3 albums and are currently collaborating with Laraaji (who’s ‘Day of Radiance’ album was produced by Brian Eno in 1980) on a full length slated for release by RVNG Intl. This will be their long awaited return to NYC for their first show in a while!!

Professor Genius
Debut performance by NJ resident Jorge Velez AKA Professor Genius. His music is classic analog – soaring leads, catchy rhythms and Italo-esque melodies. He has put out many records for Italians Do It Better, and has an upcoming release on L.I.E.S., and remixes for Led Er Est & Steve Moore.

Terekke
Terekke is the new artist on Ron Morelli’s label L.I.E.S. that everyone is talking about. Using SH101, 707 and druggy filters, all recorded live to cassette tape, his music has a deep, hazy, haunted Newworldaquarium-esque vibe. Straight from Bushwick.

Jan Woo
Warming up the night and taking over at 3am is Jan Woo, who is more influenced by by the ‘afro/cosmic’ technique than any other DJ I know. Boogie/funk/disco/techno dancey insanity.

Tropical Jeremy
Jeremy is a close friend of Beppe’s and a much loved New York DJ with an italo/boogie specialty. His recording project Zoovox (with Ben Gebhardt) recently performed a Linn-drum injected DJ set at a PS1 Summer Warm Up Event.

Set times:
9: Terekke
10: Professor Genius
11: Blues Control
12-3AM: DJ Beppe Loda
Tropical Jeremy and Jan Woo between bands and until 4AM.

Traxx
We are all extremely excited to have Traxx do an epic set at this party. The man behind Nation Records in Chicago, Traxx is an enigmatic musical performer with an eclectic, creative and super-skilled mixing style. His sets are sometimes dark and always transcendent.. one can expect old school chicago house & acid, minimal synth, and many surprises.

Steve Summers
(listen in the shea archives)
Steve Summers killed it with his live set at the last mutual dreaming, and he’s also a great DJ, spinning rare italo, house, boogie & more. His many musical projects also include Rhythm Based Lovers, Malvoeaux, Alan Hurst, Two Dogs in a House (w. Ron Morelli) and Innergaze (w. Aurora H).

Slava
Slava is the first artist outside of DC to join the Future Times family with his 12″ ‘Dreaming Tiger’ – psychedelic/afro-cosmic/dancy madness. Recent live sets have even featured some footwork inspired tracks.

S.S.P.S.
S.S.P.S. is the solo project of Porkchop from Excepter – freaky deaky house-inspired synth and drum machine creativity.

Dariius
Having put out great cassette releases as Driphouse, Daren’s new project Dariius is a deep, jammy & vaguely krauty modular synth approach to acid. It slays.

—Beautiful Swimmers—
Leading a movement in DC and DJing all over Europe with Theo Parrish and other heavyweights, these two vibemasters play the craziest records and make the grooviest tunes. As producers they’ve put out two awesome releases on Andrew (AKA Maxmillion Dunbar)’s own Future Times label. As DJs, they ride the good feeling with rare boogie/funk/house/cosmic dance music. Rare appearance in NYC, not to be missed.

—Ron Morelli—
Ron Morelli is a straight up New Yorker with freaky taste that always kills the floor. His record label, (Long Island Electrical Systems – L.I.E.S) already has a cult following for its two releases from Two Dogs in a House (raw old school house by Ron himself & Jason Letkiewicz AKA Steve Summers), and demented Daft Punky filter-house from Malvoeaux (another alias of Jason L). Check this awesome description of Ron:

Steve Moore
Known at first for being the synthesizer half of the amazing Goblin-esque krauty band ZOMBI, Steve Moore since has a ton of great new solo releases under his belt. He also has a project with Sunn O))) member Daniel O’Sullivan called Miracle. He uses Arp synths and modular systems, sometimes playing two at a time with arms spread across the setup :) The party is to celebrate his new release on Ron’s label, L.I.E.S., called “Zero-Point Field,” which has gotten lots of love from Alteredzones, the Fader and more, for a GOOD REASON – the music is awesome!!

Steve Summers
Jason Letkiewicz has appeared on 7 awesome records in the last year under different aliases. He has a soundtrack project called Alan Hurst for which he scored Vice’s film, ‘Nzambi.’ He has a boogie-funk moniker Rhythm Based Lovers, coked out dancy Malvoeaux, he’s half of hypnagogic synthwave duo Innergaze, half of 2 Dogs in a House (with Ron Morelli), and the list goes on. ‘Steve Summers’ is sleazy, raw, jacking acid house in the 80s Chicago tradition, played live on analog synthesizers and a 707. He has 3 great 12″s from this project on Clone and Echovolt Records. Past shows have had everyone dancing like crazy!

Protect-U
Protect-U are one of the most innovative bands in DC right now, and theyre coming up to bring it with their psychedelic, almost tropical dance tunes. Mike Petillo is co-owner of the Future Times record label, and he and Aaron Leitko bring out tons of sick analog gear- expect shimmering synths and tribal 707 patterns. They have a dope 12″ out on Future Times that you should definitely check out, and a cool interview below.
